Online First

Online First articles will become available as copy edited, author proofed, typeset PDFs and as full text after 10 December 2009. While this change is implemented some unedited manuscripts (downloadable in PDF format only and full text abstract) will remain on the Online First website but they will gradually be replaced with the full version.

All Online First articles are peer reviewed, accepted for publication and indexed by PubMed but not yet included in a journal issue. Once an article is published in an issue it is removed from this page. Articles are stored within sections under the relevant table of content headers. Articles still in raw manuscript format will be found in a section at the bottom of the list under the header "Raw manuscript articles".

After 10 December 2009, articles that have been accepted for publication will be posted online after they have been copy-edited, typeset and approved by the author, rather than as raw unedited manuscripts. While this change is being implemented, some unedited versions will remain on the Online First page of the website. These will gradually be replaced with the final versions, which will be available in PDF and full-text HTML formats. All Online First articles are peer reviewed and indexed by PubMed but have yet been assigned to a journal issue. When an article has been published in an issue it will be removed from the Online First page.

Online First articles in the new format will be listed under the relevant table of contents heading. Unedited articles will appear in a section at the bottom of the list under the heading "Raw manuscript articles".
