About JAMIA
Aims and Scope
The bimonthly Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association, JAMIA, presents peer-reviewed articles that describe key perspectives, novel applications, and leading-edge original investigations in the field. Readers include healthcare professionals, biomedical informaticians, computer and information scientists, administrators, and their students. Contributors develop healthcare informatics models, applications, and standards that JAMIA readers apply to clinical practice, teaching, research, and healthcare administration. JAMIA has an established reputation for presenting high-quality, timely information. Each issue contains state-of-the-art reviews, original articles, and editorials. A variety of formats accommodates work at all stages, from model formulation to initial case reports, through definitive evaluation studies and higher-level perspectives.

Access policy for JAMIA
All content published in JAMIA is deposited with PubMedCentral by the publisher but with varying embargo times. Authors/funders may pay an Unlocked fee of $2,000 to make the article free on the JAMIA website and PMC immediately on publication. Research funded by government and other recognised agencies is deposited with a 12 month embargo. All other content is deposited with a 36 month embargo.
